Individual Learning Grants Available!
Continued for 2012

London Conference has received funds from The United Church of Canada national office to promote and support participation of our lay membership and ministry personnel in learning events that will enrich their spiritual journeys and deepen the gifts they offer in their life within the church.

LearnA Learning Grant is available for up to $300 or a third of the cost of participation in a learning event, including travel, room and board.

Please do not use any old salary change forms you may have on file, as the contact information for the administrators has changed!

Donations have been received from churches, individuals and even the General Council Office and London Conference Executive that total a whopping $16,905.14 (which is really $50,715.42 with the 2-1 matching program by the Ontario government). There is still time to donate, but donating directly to the Goderich Disaster Relief is the best option to ensure your donation remains eligible for the time-sensitive 2-1 matching grant.

The United Church of Canada continues to welcome donations in response to the damage inflicted by the tornado, August 21, 2011, in Goderich, Ontario.

The former Victoria Street United Church in Goderich

The downtown business square was completely devastated and the two main employing industries were shut down. Initial estimates of damages are upwards of $75 million.

Residents are being asked to keep faith as fundraising continues. A disaster relief committee has asked that if people are holding fundraising events that they contact the committee at 519-525-2274. The committee will supply speakers for any events.
