Cover of Booklet

Birthing (Re-Birthing) our Congregations is a timely and valuable resource. Developed by Kent Presbytery and the London Conference office this booklet introduces new ways to be Christ's people in this time. God is leading us into a future that we can only dimly grasp. We may be fearful and uncertain about the future but the deeper truth is that we are called to be the church for such a time as this.

On May 1, 2008 the five Ontario Conferences (London, Hamilton, Toronto, Bay of Quinte and Manitou) created a Central Conference Archive which was located, together with the United Church National Archives, at their offices at 3250 Bloor Street in Toronto. In 2015 the lease at this location expires and the national office is expected to move. Our Conference Archives will also have to move.

The United Church has always responded by assisting communities experiencing an emergency - whether it was feeding local firefighters when fire ravaged parts of British Columbia or being a spiritual presence during the SARS epidemic. The 'Emergency Plan' prepared for Conferences, presbyteries & congregations is available to download and you may adapt the guidelines for your local community.
